We believe freshness is key to a quality tasting egg, so it is our guarantee to get the eggs delivered to our customers within 24 to 48 hours of being laid.
Each egg is individually stamped with a unique code ‘1 UK 10836’, which relates the egg back to its place of origin assuring our customers that it is the genuine article — a Black Dog free range egg.
The trays /boxes are labelled with a ‘best before date’ this indicates 28 days after having been laid.
We advise that eggs are stored at a constant temperature below 20°C, away from heat sources and sunlight. On catering premises and in the home, eggs should be stored, preferably in their packs, in a refrigerator or in a cool dry place.
Eggs have a porous shell that can easily absorb strong odours, so ideally they should be stored away from strong smelling foods.
Our eggs are available in a range of sizes and are packed into boxes of 6 or 10 for retail sales or in trays of 30 for catering use.
